Not only is this a story about basketball, but it dives into the world that Anthony navigated off the court as well - from family life to personal relationships to school and beyond. Centered is inspiring and informative, and manages to balance the excitement of athletic achievement with the raw, painful truths of growing up "different." I found myself staying up late to turn page after page, unable to pull myself away from this heart-racing and heart-breaking underdog story about basketball, bullies, and beating the odds. Never have I found a book that helped me unpack what my own son goes through everyday. As an aspiring athlete of his own understanding his frustrations, his challenges with friends Anthony explains it perfectly. An inspirational story for parents, basketball fans, teachers, and especially middle school and high school students. As a Michigan state fan cheering on the team during Anthony’s playing days I never knew his story. Everyone needs to read this book and hear his story. This book was a joy to read. I have my own son on the spectrum and this story was not only relatable but I also saw it as advice book on how to handle situations, like crushes and bullying.
